THE WALLPAPER SESSION

“These Are the Days”

Mothering, pregnancy, life and families

This Session is an absolute dream for the introverted person that I am. In fact, it’s how my work began - these are my roots. This session is documented in supreme presence, through the eyes of the wallpaper on your walls (that is if you had wallpaper, and if it did indeed have eyes - that’s me, and I am really crazy good at it). I photograph birth from this same channel.

“These Are The Days” because they are, because you are at the height of it, and you don’t always recognize that when you’re in the midst extreme growth, always on the cusp of an opportunity for something to shift. These Are The Days because in your golden age, you will remember theme as your most challenging, most loving, most genuine, most doubtful, most questioned, most curious, most terrifying, most chaotic, most sticky, smelly and messy, most significant, most enriching, most refreshing, most nurturing. (etc. etc.), because you are in a state of hot fertile bloom, now. One of my dearest friends shared with me recently; during her solo weekend away from her family; “I am living my best years, now. All my best stories are happening, now.”. This is what sparked this offering, now. I believe that we need to see ourselves this way, now.

Let me set the scene for you; I arrive as you are rolling out of bed with the light of the rising sun just peeking through your windows. The books are scattered still, the hair is unbrushed, naked bums, linen robes and kettle on. I see your inhale before that first sip, and I feel the ounce of calm you cling to. I’m there for the unseen, the unscripted, the whole, the basic, the necessity. Or perhaps it’s late afternoon, half eaten snacks left everywhere, the children’s feet are dirty from all day, dinner is being prepared in between things, still time for art to be made, the golden rays are pouring through as bedtime yields in. I am not interested in picturesque, I want the nooks and crannies; where you take your snacks, and where the light hits best. Let’s take a stroll in the early dew, and opt for a mid-day naked sunbath on the deck, while they run in circles and scream, or an evening walk before baths. These are effortless; the being here now, and the chores that need to be done anyway; hanging the clothes to dry while wrangling them on your hips. This is the most organic session, ever. It is pure love. These are the days that will forever make you weep in gratitude for the beauty that you have around you.

These are longer form, in-home morning sessions; lasting up to 3, maybe 4 hours. Where there is time to get bored; in the space is simplicity and peak creativity.

How is it different than an Essence Session?

~Essence is meant to pull us out of the mundane, just enough, to lift a veil into sacred space, so we can catch the glimpses of our higher selves; this unravelling to reveal what is true underneath the surface. There is a romance to them. The Wallpaper session is paradoxical to Essence because it is the same story, except it is asking us to dive deeper within the mundane and the ordinary, to enter into the sacredness of the roots of our lives. Extreme beauty is found in both ~ one is the ether, the other is the root; both are spirit and core, experienced from different planes. I seduce and initiate you into Essence, while Wallpaper has the ease + comfort of a kiss goodnight.
